Animal Farm Cover Project

Background: For this project, I was tasked with creating a book cover for a book of choice. I chose the novel Animal Farm by George Orwell.
Concept Sketch: Initially, the concept was meant to show the duality of the pigs and humans. Later on, I chose a different approach for this project.
Final Concept: The concept that I settled on was one that showed the change of the pigs. The front cover of the book shows the pigs in white standing upright. I wanted to convey that the pigs were "pure," at the start of the book, but I also wanted to show that things weren't as they seemed as pigs don't typically stand upright. For the back cover, I wanted to convey the change in the nature of the pigs. They still stand upright, but have adopted a cane and hat typically used by humans. They've also changed from white to black showing the change from purity to immorality.
The Mockups: The mockups were put together to visualize the designs in a three dimensional space.
The Final Presentation: As I looked back at this project, I made the decision to refresh the presentation. I modeled a book, and placed my designs on the cover. This way, I had more control over the way that I would display the designs.
